It's that time again. Lockdown is back, you're stuck at home, and you won't be able to go to the hairdresser's any time soon. If your hair is already medium length, the situation could be even worse. Read on for our tips and advice to make it through lockdown 2.0.

As soon as hair stars getting long, it requires better care. As simple as that. If you're currently halfway between a long mane and a short cut, your hair is going to need a little more attention. We recommend following a few simple and effective steps to ensure your hair stays beautiful and healthy during this transition.

Don't wash your hair too often

We've said it before, and we'll repeat it: it's better to wash your hair with an appropriate shampoo rather than with soap, which is too aggressive for your scalp. If you have long or medium-length hair, we also advise washing your hair less frequently. Washing it too often can dry it out and regulate sebum production. Instead, use a gentle moisturising shampoo once or twice a week to nourish your hair, followed by a nourishing or strengthening conditioner, depending on your hair type. This will help retain moisture and protect your hair from breakage.

Taking care of your hair ends

To avoid having hair that looks as dry as straw, you'll need to take extra care of your hair ends. Until you're allowed to go back to our favourite hairdresser's, you'll have to handle maintenance yourself, at least once over the next few weeks, if you want to prevent split ends. While it may sound scary, it's not that bad. A pair of scissors, a comb, a deep breath, and YouTube tutorials will help you through this ordeal.

Say bye-bye to knots!

A key obstacle you must manage when your hair reaches a certain length are knots. We're acutely aware of how tedious untangling knots can be, but unfortunately, it's an unavoidable process. Try doing it when your hair is wet with a wide-toothed comb, going through each strand from the bottom up. Go easy to avoid damaging your hair. One final extra tip to avoid knots: remember to tie up your hair at home between two Zoom meetings. Man bun or ponytail, the choice is yours.
