We go through the reasons and originins of redness that can appear on your face and tell you how to calm it down.

In a general, when your skin gets red is to express your interest in someone too or it means that you are embarrassed... or that something does not please your skin: an unsuitable routine, brutal climatic and environmental changes, excessive exposure to the sun without protection, poor lifestyle or stress can sensitize it. Redness are its way of sending you an S.O.S. They are caused by the dilation of the blood capillaries under the surface of the skin. This slight inflammation can also cause small, flat, red pimples, not to be confused with acne pimples.

Eternal or temporary redness?

If you have redness throughout the year, it is probably because you have particularly sensitive and reactive skin. It's best to follow a gentle skincare routine and even consult a dermatologist to diagnose if possiblly you have rosacea. If your redness is temporary, you need to identify what has changed in your environment for it to appear: season changes, excessive alcohol, diet, stress or fatigue may be the causes. The presence of alcohol, under certain conditions, in your skin care products can also be the reason for the appearance of your redness. If you read "denatured alcohol" in the lingredients list, it is better to stop using it. There is also ethyl alcohol, known as ethanol, of vegetable origin, obtained by fermentation of certain fruits or cereals: it helps to preserve products, makes them dry faster once applied, and gives them an antibacterial and antiseptic effect. It is therefore not to be avoided, especially if it is compensated by moisturizing agents such as glycerin or betaine. If you read "Cetyl alcohol", "Cetearyl alcohol", "Stearyl alcohol" or "Behenyl alcohol" in the list of ingredients, these are in fact fatty alcohols that are highly recommended because they have emollient, moisturizing, softening and protective benefits for the skin.

The good skin care routine

You can also fight redness by adding one or two products dedicated in your routine. We recommend our purifying facial cleanser that does not irritate the skin but gently washes it, thanks to aloe vera (softening and protective against irritation) and glycerin. The ideal is to then complete your skincare routine with our matifying facial moisturizer formulated, among others, with organic shea butter that nourishes and protects your skin and organic prickly pear oil to prevent dehydration. Once or twice a week, you can also exfoliate your skin with the facial scrub adapted to sensitive skin that will stimulate cell renewal gently. It contains vitamin E, an antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals and has anti-inflammatory properties. With this routine suited to sensitive skin, you can finally stop turning into a clown’s nose. And blush only for the right reasons.
